Short biography
Dr. Kobayashi received BS, MS, and PhD degrees in agriculture from the University of Tokyo, Japan, in 2001, 2003, and 2009, respectively. After working as a JSPS research fellow (RPD), she has joined the faculty as an assistant professor in 2013 and as an associate professor in 2018.
Research summary
Her research focuses on the understanding of the uptake and translocation of minerals and substances in plant and elucidating its mechanism. Her approach is characterized by the use of multiple radionuclides as radiotracer. In the aftermath of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident in 2011, she has been participating in research and educational activities to address the issue of radiocesium contamination of agricultural products.
