Dr. Matthieu is a postdoctoral researcher at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), affiliated with the DFUTURE research group. She is also a voluntary researcher at the M2P research group at the University of Antwerp (UA). Her primary research expertise lies in inequalities in political socialization processes. She is currently involved in a research project on the development of political knowledge and attitudes among young people during the 2024 election campaign, in which Voting Advice Applications (VAAs) are a central element. Within this project, both panel data and experimental data are being collected among youngsters.
