Sohom Chakrabarty
Biografie
Dr. Sohom Chakrabarty received the B.E. degree in Electrical Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India in 2008. After a brief stint at General Electric, he pursued his PhD research in Systems and Control Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and graduated in 2015. Thereafter, he worked as a Research Associate in University of Kent, United Kingdom till 2016. Since 2016, he is working in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee where he is now an Associate Professor. He is working in the area of discrete time sliding mode control, as well as reinforcement learning based controller designs. His application areas are robotics, autonomous vehicles and power electronics. He has made significant contributions in both theoretical and applied research, which is reflected in his academic output spanning over 50 publications in various international journals and conferences, five book chapters, one patent and four copyrights. He has served as a resource person in tutorials and invited lectures and also as session chair in international conferences. He has been invited as Visiting Researcher in Lodz University of Technology, Poland and as Visiting Associate Professor in RMIT University, Australia. He is a senior member of IEEE and associated with the societies IEEE-CSS, IEEE-RAS, IEEE-IES, IEEE-VTS and IEEE-SMC.
